Special Educational Needs & Disabilities
Stortford Gymnastics welcomes children with special requirements as part of an all-inclusive policy.
Where possible, the children are integrated into our regular classes. We will invite you to an introductory lesson for your child to meet us, and then we will work with parents/carers to find the best class for you. Additional coaching support can be provided, and we can work with parents/guardians to organise this.
We also run some SEND specific sessions (see below) where after a welcome activity, the gym is yours to explore together. Parents/Carers are also in the gym working alongside their child, with a qualified coach on hand to give advice, and suggest appropriate activities. About 5 minutes before the end of the session, we will tidy up with a closing activity.
Sunday SEND & Sibling
These sessions take place on the FIRST Sunday of every month at 11.25-12.05 and are aimed at SEND children from walking up to 11 years.Â
Please note that children remain the responsibility of Parents/Carers at all times
Cost: SEND £10, Sibling £5 (per sibling)

Daytime Discovery Gym
These sessions take place on one Wednesday of every month at 1.45-2.30 and are aimed at SEND children from walking to 11 years.Â

SEND 4 Schools Gymnastics
Our facility is perfect for developing fine and gross motor skills for primary school children with SEND in Hertfordshire & Essex. We run regular hourly sessions on Wednesday afternoons for local schools during the day. This costs £9 per gymnast (6 or more gymnasts). Please email us or ask your SEND School Co-ordinator to contact us at events@stortfordgymnastics.com
In addition, we also have some SEND children who come to us for 121 or small group sessions during the day. These 30 minutes classes can be arranged for Tuesday’s or Wednesday’s (with permission from your school, of course).  The cost is £18 for a 121 or £11 per gymnast for a small group (under 6 gymnasts), but we can offer assistance for those eligible for free school dinners.
 
 HAPpy Funded Free Sessions
HAPpy is a government scheme whereby we can apply for funding for free sessions and booking codes are available from your school (for those that live in Hertfordshire).
